Google is offering a job opportunity as a Business Analyst, Global Sales Tools, to join the Google team in California, USA. As a Business Analyst, the applicant will be within the User Insights and Analytics Team (UIA), which is nestled within the Global Sales Team (GST). GST is responsible for the ingestion, prioritization, deployment, training, and measurement of the tools and features that are deployed to Google’s business force. This team provides valuable insights and information that steer the Google stakeholder community (e.g., Product Leads, UX, and Engineering) towards success (e.g., saving seller time and/or enhancing the business process).

In this role, the applicant will provide a unique opportunity to understand seller behavior, tools usage, and operational performance by leveraging the power of data and analytics. As a member of the User Insights and Analytics team, the applicant will play a strategic and technical role in supporting Google worldwide business teams. Key responsibilities include framing business problems, exploring datasets (with SQL, Python, or R), applying analytical and/or statistical models, and delivering actionable insights via dashboards, compelling data visualizations, and/or presentations. The current team is an eclectic mix of business and technical analysts that have expertise in three primary capabilities: Business Analysis, Data Engineering, and Advanced Analytics. The applicant will primarily be focused on business analysis with secondary skills in advanced analytics.


  • Work with large and disparate datasets and collaborate with team members to design, validate, produce, and support dashboards.
  • Leverage GST’s data sources to identify new opportunities and translate them into actionable recommendations.
  • Develop scalable solutions and models to help stakeholders optimize their business areas.
  • Create presentation decks with compelling visualizations (e.g., matplotlib, ggplot, and spreadsheets) and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Aide in the development of robust and accurate models to forecast/predict/classify application usage, customer satisfaction, and other KPIs to identify correlations, anomalies, and nuances.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Engineering, or related disciplines or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in advertising, marketing, data analytics, or related field.
  • Experience with statistical concepts (e.g., A/B Tests) and models.
  • Experience with SQL.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's, MS, or another advanced degree in Business, Analytics, Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • 7 years of experience in data analytics.
  • Experience influencing and leading organizational change.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to develop, deploy, and use machine learning algorithms to drive decisions using Python, R, SAS, or similar languages.
