Princeton University invites applications for the Princeton Arts Fellowship Program in the United States. The Fellowship will recognize the artists whose achievements have been recognized as demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching.

The Lewis Center is designed to put the creative and performing arts at the heart of the Princeton experience. This mission is based on the conviction that exposure to the arts helps each of us to make sense of our lives and the lives of our neighbors. We pursue this mission by bringing together a vibrantly diverse community of people with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, skills, and talents.

Fellowship Summary

Fellowships are for two academic years. An $84,000 salary for each year is included. Fellows will be in residence for academic years 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 at Princeton, interacting with our students, faculty and staff as part of the Lewis Center for the Arts and the Department of Music. The normal work assignment will be to teach one course each semester subject to approval by the Dean of the Faculty, but fellows may be asked to take on an artistic assignment in lieu of a class, such as directing a play or creating a dance with students. Applicants are not required to have prior teaching experience and although the teaching load is light, our expectation is that Fellows will be full and active members of our community, committed to frequent and engaged interactions with students during the academic year.
