IRC offers a job opportunity in USA to work as a financial coach. The financial coach will provide services to individuals who are enrolled as financial opportunity center participants or micro-enterprise business clients. Financial counseling and coaching involve an ability to engage and empower clients, a strong understanding of business and personal finances, and the ability to teach that knowledge to others. The financial coach is responsible for assist clients in developing plans of action that are intended to help the client reach their goals and achieve financial stability.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • It's strongly preferred to have undergraduate degree from a four-year accredited institution.
  • A strong understanding of personal finances, particularly in the areas of budgeting, asset building, and credit building.
  • It's preferred to have previous work experience in the financial sector (banking, lending, insurance, investments). 
  • Excellent cross-cultural understanding and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and database experience.
  • Travel is necessary to meet clients, perform orientations, and hold training and have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy and access to reliable transportation.
  • In accordance with Arizona State law, you must possess or be eligible to receive a fingerprint clearance card.

Your Responsibilities: 

You will be responsible of:

  1. Engage the client in a long-term relationship.
  2. Assist clients in resolving current financial situations, while providing a wide lens on their financial health to shift the approach to proactive financial management.
  3. Work with clients to complete a detailed financial assessment.
  4. Work with the client to document a budget and provide strategies for budget improvements.
  5. Access the clients credit report/score and provide strategies for credit building.
  6. Document the client’s balance sheet and provide strategies for increasing net worth.
  7. Develop plans of actions and provide tools, resources, and accountability to the client to help them meet their goals.
  8. Understand other services offered by the IRC, such as employment services and income support counseling, and connect the clients to these other services.
  9. Work with clients to create business plans and provide technical assistance.
  10. Track the stories and successes of program participants.
  11. Use sales force and Efforts to Outcome (ETO), client management systems, to document and reflect the outcome of their clients accurately and in a timely manner. 
  12. Completing Combined Financial Assessment (CFA) for financial counseling clients 
  13. Working with the entire FOC team to ensure that any changes to the client’s CFA (new job, new benefit, and change in credit score) is properly documented in Salesforce and ETO.
  14. Develop workshop materials or tailor existing materials to meet the needs of the community.
  15. Workshop topics should be relevant to the community, and may include topics such as: budgeting, savings, banking products, credit building and more.
  16. Administer consumer loan program and ensure all applications (credit building and auto) have been compiled and submitted in a timely manner.
  17. Provide thorough underwriting for all loans.
  18. Ensure funder objectives are met monthly and outcomes are recorded in ETO database accurately. 
  19. Comply with all IRC policies, procedures and protocols including adherence to the IRC way and child safeguarding.
  20. Other related duties as assigned.
