Devpost announced the 2020 Girls in Tech for a global virtual hackathon to design innovative solutions for those impacted by Breast Cancer (patients, survivors, caregivers). Participants are encouraged to develop mobile application solutions for challenges mentioned in the following tracks. Projects outside of the following tracks are welcome as long as they address a relevant need related to Breast Cancer awareness, prevention, monitoring, and treatment.

Competition Challenges:

Develop a solution to address the systemic challenges that prevent women of color from receiving Breast Cancer screenings and/or treatment.
Design a solution to help Breast Cancer patients and caregivers find reliable and credible information with ease.
Create a tool or method/solution to monitor side effects of specific cancer treatments in Breast Cancer.
Create a tool or method/solution to monitor activities and/or actions to prevent Breast Cancer.

Prizes:

Cash Prize of $2,000

First Place: $1000 cash prize
Second Place: $600 cash prize
Third Place: $400 cash prize

Eligibility:

Individual participants over 18 years old can participate.
Teams are welcome to sign up as a group of up to 5 members or as individuals.

Video

Upload a short video demo of your product, including an explanation of the function and solution.
This video can be submitted as a Youtube link on your Devpost page for your project.
Videos should be a maximum of 3 minutes long.

Judging Criteria:

Originality and Innovation Is the application’s concept original and unique?
User Experience Is the design easy to use with a quality and intuitive user interface?
Usefulness Is this application solving and addressing real issues that users are facing?
Go-to-Market Ready How soon can this application be deployed and used by real users?
