The Federation's General Secretariat announced the opening of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils Prizefor Scientific Researc 2020, and Prof. Dr. Mubarak Muhammad Ali Majzoub, the Secretary-General, explained that all arrangements have been completed to receive applications for the award, and the General Secretariat has addressed the ministries and conditions concerned with scientific research in the Arab countries. He is inviting all Arab scholars and researchers to present their research efforts and participate in this competition .

Award objectives:

Spread the culture of scientific research among the Arab community.
Encourage talented and creative people.
Helping researchers to invest in their research and innovation and turn them into products.
Introduce distinguished researchers among employees of Arab scientific research institutions.

Conditions:

The candidate must be of Arab nationality.
He must have researched, authored or innovated in an Arab research institution (university, institution, center, ...).
He should be nominated in writing by one professor specializing in the field of the award (at least) from a university or research institution, provided that the nomination letter includes the nomination justifications and CV of both the professor and the candidate.
The research should not have been submitted to another scientific award.
If the research, author, or innovation is accomplished by a research team, the General Secretariat must be provided with the written consent of the members of the research team stating their consent to compete in the award, and to authorize one of the members of the research team to receive the award if the research won one of the prizes.
That the candidate fill out the form prepared for nomination for the award.
The candidate must submit his scientific research through his scientific institution.
Additions or modifications are not accepted to any document after its arrival.
Applications that do not comply with the conditions of the award, nor those that arrive after the nomination period ends, are not considered.

The prize:

A certificate that includes the name of the award, the name of the winner and the year it was obtained.
Shield of the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils.
A monetary reward of:

5,000 (five thousand dollars) for a book-writing winner.
5,000 (five thousand dollars) for the winner in the field of authorship and translation.
2000 (two thousand dollars) for each young researchers winner (five prizes)
5,000 (five thousand dollars) for each innovation winner (two prizes)

Award areas:

The Council of the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils shall determine the fields of the award annually according to the strategy of the work of the Union in accordance with the research priorities approved by the Union according to its annual plan, during the meetings of its annual regular sessions. The following areas have been approved for this year 2020:

Prize for the best books written in the field of new and renewable energy research during the years: (2018, 2019 and 2020).
Authoring and translation award for the best authored or translated books on modern educational systems now in force in Scandinavia.
Young researchers prize in the field of water harvesting.
Innovation Award during the years: (2018, 2019 and 2020).

About Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils:

It is an organization concerned with coordinating efforts and exchanging experiences between Arab scientific research bodies and centers. It works on strengthening cooperation between them, providing opportunities for holding scientific meetings and organizing the exchange of research results and scientific information. And the League of Arab States and its organizations in accordance with the system approved by the League Council for Cooperation and Coordination, as the Union is a member of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action and a member of the Economic and Social Council of the League. The union’s relationship with the headquarters country is regulated by a special agreement.
