Google is offering a summer internship within the Building Opportunities for Leadership and Development (BOLD) program for 2020 in the United States. The program is a paid internship for rising undergraduate seniors that are interested in business careers in the technology industry and full-time job opportunities at Google. The company has designed this program to expose historically underrepresented students in this field to career opportunities in the industry and to prepare talent to be ambassadors for diversity, equality and inclusion in their careers. Google Interns are given a lot of responsibility and the opportunity to provide a meaningful contribution to their teams. Responsibilities are assigned to interns at the start of the program.

About the program:

BOLD interns are placed on teams across the company in fields of work including but not limited to Sales, Services & Support, Tech (support and operations), Marketing & Communications, Program Management and People Operations (Google's Human Resources). Their work is core to Google and varies in scope and in length - ranging from the day-to-day work of a full-time Googler to a single long-term project lasting the duration of the internship. BOLD interns also participate in targeted training and experiences and have the opportunity to take advantage of the learning and development programs and support systems that Google offers. This includes mentorship, an exclusive speaker series with company leadership, custom learning and development sessions, and opportunities to create community. Google recognizes that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are critical components of leadership for all Googlers so we ensure these topics are integrated throughout the summer’s programming.

Minimum qualifications:

  1. Currently in the third year of a full-time BA/BS degree program.
  2. Ability to complete a 11 week program beginning in May or June 2020.

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Authorization to legally work in the United States.
  2. Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  3. Analytical skills and an interest in taking on business problems.
  4. Interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate an ambiguous environment.
  5. Interest in the technology industry and Google’s business.
