Chevening program is offering fully-funded Master’s Scholarships for Jordanian students who want to focus on achieving their academic goals and enjoying the experience of a lifetime. The applicants will be able to develop themselves professionally and academically and grow their network. Chevening is the UK Government’s global scholarship program that offers funded scholarships awarded to outstanding professionals from all over the world to pursue a one-year master’s degree in any subject at any UK university.

  4. An arrival allowance.
  5. A homeward departure allowance.
  6. The cost of one visa application.
  7. A travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must:-

  1. Be a Jordanian citizen.
  2. Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended.
  3. Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate program. This is typically equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree in the UK.
  4. Have at least two years of work experience.
  5. Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 16 July 2020.
  6. Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 16 July 2020 which includes taking one of the following English language tests:
    • Academic IELTS.
    • Pearson PTE Academic.
    • TOEFL iBT.
    • C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge English: Advanced [CAE]).
    •  Trinity ISE II (B2).

Claiming an exemption is allowed based on the UKVI exempt categories.

Work Experience Conditions:

  1. Work experience can be completed before, during, or after graduating from your undergraduate studies, however, any mandatory employment that counted towards your undergraduate or postgraduate course would not be eligible.
  2. You do not need to meet the work experience requirement in one period of employment. Applicants can submit up to ten different employment periods in order to meet the requirement. 
  3. If you are currently employed, it is not a requirement of Chevening that you resign from your position. 
  4. You are advised to discuss your application with your employer and it is your responsibility to ensure that they will release you if you are selected for a Chevening Scholarship.
  5. A working week comprises 35-60 hours and a working year comprises 40-50 weeks so the minimum number of hours an applicant must have before applying is 2,800 hours for two years’ work experience.
  6. The types of work experience that are eligible for Chevening can include:-
    • Full-time employment.
    • Part-time employment.
    • Voluntary work.
    • Paid or unpaid internships.

Eligible Courses:

In order to be eligible, the courses you choose must:

  1. Be full-time.
  2. Start in the autumn term (usually September/October).
  3. Taught master’s (i.e. not research-focused MRes programs).
  4. Lead to a master’s degree qualification.
  5. Based in the UK.

Courses cannot be:

  1. Part-time.
  2. Distance learning.
  3. Less than 9 months in duration.
  4. More than 12 months in duration.
  5. Ph.D. or DPhil.
  6. Taught with more than one month of study outside the UK.
