Agility is offering an exceptional job opportunity for an Operations Manager to start working within Shipa Freight’s team in Dubai, UAE for 2020. The manager is responsible for driving global growth and expansion through innovation and continuous improvement in automation, digitization, process design, operations performance management and training.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Implementation:

  1. Lead and develop key initiatives, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall user and customer experience.
  2. Implement operations model and leverage existing operational capabilities.
  3. The document, continuously develops, and implement best practices to improve the efficiency of site operations management.
  4. Implement and assist in developing plans to maximize automation/digitization of processes in collaboration with the Global Shared Services Center (GSSC); contribute to the development of a more robust centralized GSSC.
  5. Drive prioritization of all digital initiatives with an analytics-based approach that aligns with the overall strategy.
  6. Identify and recommend digital trends essential to improving user experience and broadening business opportunities.

Cross-functional Engagement:

  1. Translate various business requirements into initiatives.
  2. Deliver based on the overall operational metrics and targets.
  3. Collaborate with country teams to overcome operational challenges.
  4. Work with the team to identify and address critical requirements for Operations, and develop user stories to be used for back-end functionality enhancements.
  5. Closely monitor coordination with GSSC on jobs requiring exceptions.
  6. Work with the team to document test case scenarios, ensure systems are functioning and all data flows are accurate, report critical requirements and monitor resolutions.

Team Management:

  1. Focus on continuous improvement, training, and innovation.
  2. Guide, motivate and coach the operations team/s to ensure delivery of overall targets and business plans.
  3. Develop and execute a well-defined communication/engagement model to ensure a common understanding of goals, objectives, and timelines.

Job requirements: 

  1. Business Science degree from a top tier business school, MBA or MSc an advantage.
  2. At least 4 years of experience in a leadership role.
  3. Proven track record in building and sustaining businesses in the logistics, supply chain, or shipping industries.
  4. Demonstrable track record of having automated manual processes or participating in such an endeavor.
  5. Strong business acumen.
  6. Excellent leadership and management skills; expert at resource management.
  7. Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders.
  8. Strategic and analytical thinking.
  9. Creativity and innovation.
  10. Adaptability and the ability to effectively deal with ambiguity – managing change positively, shifting gears comfortably, and making decisions with available information.
  11. Results-oriented.
