CLUE (Community Lighting for the Urban Environment) has launched its 5th edition annual competition under the theme of Light & Disruption to explore how light can help to prevent challenging situations and crisis or manage emergencies when they occur. This year, CLUE is encouraging young students and professionals to imagine the ways in which lighting can make a difference and is asking contributors to think of how illumination can help to anticipate and address problems before they even start - as well as the way in which it might assist during an incident. How can light help the people affected by a crisis? What role can it play in aiding emergency responders? And how can it help in the aftermath of an incident?
Prizes will be awarded on merit by an international jury composed of professionals in the fields of design and urban planning. Prizes will be distributed as following:
The CLUE (Community Lighting for the Urban Environment) competition is an internationally recognized leader in the design community. CLUE has set itself the goal of encouraging and challenging young designers such as students (University & Colleges) and emerging Professionals (no more than 5 years in their profession) to develop innovative lighting concepts for interior and exterior spaces, stimulate challenging ideas and recognize individuals creating those ideas.
