The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is looking for a talented Finance Officer to join the work team in Iraq for 2020. The position is key in Finance department, will cover temporarily the role Senior Finance officer when he/she is not in office and other key role include supporting the program team in managing their cash need and disbursement in accordance to the IRC Finance policy and procedure, and supporting the program team in insuring the incentive workers paid in timely manner.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in managing all aspects of day to day Finance operations in KRK field office.
  2. Assist in the implementation of Finance policies, procedures and systems. 
  3. Ensure compliance with IRC procedures and guidelines.
  4. Review and checking of KRK and SAL field office running cost and documents to ensure mathematical accuracy. Proper coding and compliance with IRC policies and procedures.  
  5. Review all payment documents according to Authorization Matrix for proper and adequate back up.
  6. Review expenditure worksheets for accuracy and completeness.
  7. Prepare shared cost program allocation journal voucher on monthly basis.
  8. Forward to the payroll Administrator every month, an outstanding cash advances and charges related to T7 for recovery. Ensure that advances taken in a given month are liquidated appropriately.
  9. Conduct a time sheet audit for KRK and SAL field office on Monthly basis.
  10. Maintenance of up-to-date spreadsheet for KRK and SAL office and ensures mathematical accuracy, correct coding and existence of supporting documents in accordance with IRC policies and procedures.
  11. Promote cooperative professional relations between finance and other program and support staff, especially in relation to the provision of finance services and support.
  12. Assist in Insure the timely submission cash forecasts from Operations and Program in preparation of cash forecasts.
  13. Contribute in Month end closing process of the country program.
  14. Requires frequent travels to Salahaddin, and KRI governorates
  15. Any other tasks as requested by supervisor and technical supervisor.

Job Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor degree in account or relevant.
  2. Work Experience: 2-4 years of Prior experience of working in Finance, and in a multi-cultural environment
  3. Excellent computer skills, primarily Word, Excel and accounting packages.
  4. Works collaboratively with team members to achieve results
  5. Language Skills:  Fluent English (written and spoken), Local Language.
