Job Opportunity at IRC to Work as a Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant in Mosul in Iraq

IRC offers a full time job opportunity in Iraq to work as a MEAL assistant-Mosul in Iraq. Under the direct supervision of the monitoring and evaluation officer, The Monitoring and Evaluation (MEAL) assistant contributes to enhancing the quality of the IRC humanitarian emergency response programming through ensuring minimum quality standards are applied in monitoring measures. You contributes toward the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of IRC. In addition to program data management for quality purposes.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • A bachelor degree preferred in social sciences, statistics or development studies.
  • At least one year of experience in data collection; including qualitative and quantitative approaches to assessment and monitoring.
  • Experience in participatory assessment, monitoring and evaluation, training and facilitation, data processing or analysis.
  • Excel knowledge; and information dissemination software.
  • Very good written and spoken skills in Arabic and Kurdish, intermediate level in English.
  • Good report writing and information dissemination skills.
  • Good knowledge of and experience with humanitarian guidelines and principles.
  • Ability to travel to different project sites as needed.

It's preferred to have:

  • Good contextual knowledge of local community and social/cultural constraints, realities and organizational relationships for effective project design and implementation.
  • Communicates with integrity to different stakeholders- good interpersonal skills with people across a wide social range including project beneficiaries/community members, other IRC staff/managers, government officials etc.
  • Knowledge of mobile data collection database.

Note: If you are a national of the country in which this position is based and are currently located outside of your home country and possess over two years of international work experience, IRC has introduced an attractive remuneration package. The package includes competitive compensation, return flight to post, temporary housing and a relocation allowance. Certain restrictions may apply.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  1. Conduct data collection like post implementation monitoring, observations, market surveys, price monitoring, verification, focus group discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KII) with different persons of different age groups (children, youth, adults).
  2. Entering and cleaning the data from post implementation monitoring, FGDs, observations and KIIs, participate in data analysis and draft reports.
  3. Support help desk to respond and collect beneficiary’s feedback through complaint/suggestion box.
  4. Conduct field visit to program activities in order observing them.
  5. Conduct training for casual workers on data collection methodologies.
  6. Provide supervision for quantitative data collection activities.
  7. Conduct data quality checks in the field and ensure accuracy and completeness of survey questionnaires.
  8. Supervise all M&E casual workers.
  9. Participate in the baseline, mid-term and end of term evaluations of programs in accordance with the M&E standards.
  10. Ensure that hard copies of data collected is kept at project sites.
  11. Plan with M&E officer data collection needs and activities.
  12. Prepare informative field reports, identify shortcomings and make relevant recommendations on a regular basis.
  13. Any other relevant task as required.
