TASC announces a job opportunity to work as an IT support assistant. The officer’s role is to assist help desk supervisor to ensure that end users are receiving the appropriate assistance. This includes identification, prioritization, and resolution of end user help requests. The help desk officer will also contribute to problem resolution by giving in-person, hands-on support to end users.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • Diploma/bachelor in IT.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in IT.
  • Learning skills.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Problem analysis and solving skills.
  • Adaptability.
  • The ability to interact with the team.
  • Planning and organizing skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly gain new skills and knowledge when faced with new challenges, i.e.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to show respect to other cultures and work in a culturally diverse environment

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  1. Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically.
  2. Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
  3. Research questions using available information resources.
  4. Advise user on appropriate action.
  5. Follow standard help desk procedures.
  6. Log all help desk interactions.
  7. Administer help desk software.
  8. Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.
  9. Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions.
  10. Prepare activity reports.
  11. Inform management of recurring problems.
  12. Stay current with system information, changes and updates.
  13. Monitor and test fixes to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
  14. Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.
  15. Ability to troubleshoot common hardware/software issues
  16. Ability to follow instructions and work autonomously.
