The United Nations Volunteers Program is looking for online volunteers to work in the Production of infographics on the methodology and results of UNICEF Evaluations.

Main Tasks:

The volunteer will have to:

  • Produce Infographics on Evaluation based on the findings of evaluation reports and the content of any other methodological documents produced by the Evaluation Unit of the UNICEF Regional Office for West and Central Africa (WCARO). They will have to comply with the WCARO quality standards and must be adapted to the identified audiences and the expectations of the Evaluation Unit, which will be shared with the selected volunteer.
  • Be available for a preliminary phase of consultation between with UNICEF WCARO, so that the different expectations be fully understood. To this end, exchanges between the volunteer and the Regional Evaluation Adviser - who will be in charge of supervising and guiding the volunteer - will be held and a familiarization session on UNICEF communication guidelines will be organized.
  • Working in close collaboration with the members of the Evaluation Unit of the Regional Office.

Background and Objectives:

As part of efforts to support the response to COVID-19, the WCARO Evaluation Unit is supporting the efforts of UNICEF Country Offices and Governments to conduct real-time evaluations of their response to the pandemic. To this end, the Evaluation Unit has developed a series of tools (including concept notes, companion guides, manuals) aimed at building the capacity of UNICEF partners and Country Offices to evaluate COVID-19. The volunteer's contribution will be essential to finalize the design of this documentation and any other evaluation reports produced during the period between May and September 2020, while ensuring quality and functionality in relation to the envisaged training objectives. To do so, the volunteer will actively contribute to the response efforts of VIDOC-19 on the African continent as well as UNICEF and to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Requirements:

Candidates must have basic communication, computer graphics, graphic design, data visualization, and research skills to identify or create graphic and visual materials for messages aimed at both specialized and general audiences. Applicants should include in their application examples of previous work in the field of development. Gender and disability considerations will be positively considered.
