Job Opportunity in Tunisia: Project Officer - Social Affairs

UMCE-BUSINESSMED is offering an opportunity to work as a Project Manager in Social Affairs. The successful applicant will be responsible for contributing in the organization of meetings and training workshops, preparing work plans, technical and financial progress reports and support the identification and preparation of contract agreements with consultants, experts or any contractors as needed for the projects so as to participating in the definition of activity planning and validation tools and ensure their execution, respecting the deadlines, and taking into account the defined indicators and procedures and do any other related works.  

Responsibilities:

  1. Contributes to sector analysis and assessment of the economic growth and social progress at National and Regional level

  2. Provide regular analysis in the social affairs and mechanisms related to bargaining of social partners in the target countries

  3. Assess the strategical and technical priorities of the Social Dialogue for the short, medium and long-term 

  4. Supporting in drafting speeches, presentations and key-notes.

  5. Contribute to ensure effective implementation of the project through planning, control, monitoring and evaluation of the project activities, in conformity with BUSINESSMED policies;

  6. Contribute in the organization of meetings and training workshops

  7. Prepare work plans, technical and financial progress reports

  8. Support the identification and preparation of contract agreements with consultants, experts or any contractors as needed for the projects

  9. Participate in the definition of activity planning and validation tools and ensure their execution, respecting the deadlines, and taking into account the defined indicators and procedures

  10. Develop and update methodological guidelines, action plans on social dialogue-related topic. 

  11. Monitors ongoing projects, elaborates minutes on projects and processes written documents

  12. Supports statistics, data on the implementation of project-related activities in collaboration with the project team

  13. Archives administrative and narrative documents resulting from EU-projects activities;

  14. Contribute to the active involvement of social partners in different consultation processes on economic and social affairs;

  15. Establish and maintain relationships with the governments, employers' and workers', non-governmental organizations, the target groups 

  16. Support the administrative and logistical arrangements for the implementation of project activities;

  17. Contributes to the conceptualization and qualitative execution of each event;

  18. Maintain and update a calendar of events schedule;

  19. Ensure effective event planning and preparation including drafting of events plans and check lists;

  20.  Act as the main focal point for the venue and event services, including booking venues, set-up, 

  21. Plan and prepare for all logistical arrangements including maps of the venue and contact numbers;

  22.  Act as focal point for questions received from participants regarding the event;

Qualifications, Experience:

  1. Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in political science, law, international relations or related fields

  2. Specific trainings on mediation and dialogue facilitation would be an asset

  3. At least 3 years of advisory experience and track record of engaging on topics related to Social Dialogue, national reconciliation, conflict resolution etc.

  4. At least 3 years’ experience in project management in international organisations

  5. Extensive knowledge of EU funding projects

  6. Proven experience in European projects management

  7. Ethics and Values: Demonstrate and safeguard ethics and integrity

  8. Effective working relations with people  of different national and cultural backgrounds

  9. Fluency in Arabic, English and French (both oral and written) is required

  10. Ability to manage the flow of information and adhere to deadlines and commitments

  11. Excellent computer skills, especially a very good command of MS Office

  12. Excellent communication skills

  13. Fully independent in report writing and excellent drafting skills

  14. Demonstrated ability in supporting multiple projects simultaneously

  15. Ability to work independently and excellent attention to detail and accurac

  16. Prioritizing and Organizing

  17. Good interpersonal skills

  18. Good capability of converting ideas into practical results

Salary:  

local salary in Tunisian Currency ( TND) Commensurate with the experience and qualification of the candidate
